write it down
I was thinking, while walking, down park street. The jumper, in all saints, waiting. If only, the thoughts, could be put down, like that. In the watershed now, fresh air attracts the young families. I guess there is space for the stroller. its nice, its nicer. Islands of middle class families, paying through the media, to live the dream. My friends Igor and Helena once pointed out to me that when you have a kid, you know the cost of the stroller, and so you can't help but notice which families have which. They said its no longer what car you drive, but instead which stroller you ride. The stroller as the signifier of your wealth. The stroller as commodity. I think that this has something to do with technology and design.

Not quite sure its all to do with design and technology. Obviously you pay more for good design (Just look at the over-pricing of Apple) So in some respects it is. But then there's plenty of very expensive things with really bad design. If you have a stroller that cost 5000 pounds but was hidious people who are in the know about strollers would still know. Good design or no good design. Can't remember who said it but:
"There's nothing worse then people with money and bad taste" Or something like that
yes, and also the idea that if you spend enough money on something it MUST be in good taste. i too had noticed the the ridiculously priced strollers. some of them look like the baby-carrier equivalents to SUVS. huge, bulky, accessorized out. i can't wait to see one with a cup for the baby's morning coffee. now THAT's good design!
